Mission and Ministry

Father praying over congregation

A Catholic education at Our Lady of the Lake University is shaped by a unique belief in God鈥檚 Providence. Because we believe in the reality of Providence, we are confident that we are guided by the loving power of God. This confidence impacts everything we do at the university and it prepares our graduates to go out into the world and make a difference.

Programming within 好色先生鈥檚 Division of Mission and Ministry is built upon the aspects of campus ministry outlined by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops in the pastoral letter 鈥淓mpowered by the Spirit: Campus Ministry Faces the Future.鈥

These pillars are:

  • Forming Community
  • Appropriating Faith
  • Forming the Christian Conscience
  • Educating for Peace and Justice
  • Personal Development
  • Developing Leaders for the Future

Honoring Our Heritage

Our Lady of the Lake University鈥檚 Catholic identity is rooted in the charism of the Congregation of Divine Providence (CDPs). The sisters鈥 trust in God鈥檚 Providence inspires the university鈥檚 mission and invites the community into a life of prayer, service, and justice.

At the heart of this heritage is the Sacred Heart Conventual Chapel, a sacred space that reflects the history, spirituality, and artistic tradition of the Congregation and the university.

Learn more about the chapel and those who serve there on the Chapel鈥檚 Meet the Team page.
