The Sacred Heart Conventual Chapel (SHCC) at Our Lady of the Lake University holds profound significance for both the university and the broader community. A striking example of English Gothic architecture, the chapel stands as a testament to the enduring presence of the Congregation of Divine Providence and ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉú on San Antonio’s Westside for more than a century.

Conceived and brought to life through the vision and perseverance of Mother Florence Walter—who served as Superior General from 1886 to 1925—the chapel was realized over a 28-year period through the dedication and sacrifice of the Sisters of Divine Providence.

For over 100 years, the Sacred Heart Conventual Chapel has served as a beacon of faith and strength, welcoming generations of students and visitors—many marking the beginning of new chapters in their lives—while continuing to foster a deep sense of community and spiritual renewal.

Sunday and Weekday Mass

By gathering to pray in public, we mark our time together as sacred and we recognize that we are in the presence of our loving God. Our worship nourishes us and also impels us to live our lives with Gospel values and the call of our Provident God to share all that we are with others. All are invited to join us in our Catholic liturgical celebrations.

Worship Services
Throughout the academic semesters, the following worship services are offered regularly:

• Sundays – 7 p.m. – Liturgy – Sacred Heart Chapel
• Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday – 12:30 p.m. – Daily Liturgy – Constantineau Chapel
